Mumbai’s first metro rolls out from Versova depot, test run on May 1
“The trial process started on Friday evening and the metro rail rolled out of the Versova car depot to run up to Azad Nagar (also known as Indian Oil Junction),” confirmed SVR Srinivas, additional metropolitan commissioner, Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA).

Mumbai metro to miss CM’s March 2013 deadline

‘Metro in Navi Mumbai by end 2014’

One dead, but MMRDA panel blames Mumbai Metro mishap on ‘natural reasons’
A two-member expert committee appointed by MMRDA has said the mishap at the Airport Road Metro Station site last month was due to technical and natural reasons. The accident had left one person dead and 16 injured. The committee report, however, is silent on possible negligence on the part of Mumbai Metro One Private Limited (MMOPL), the Reliance Infrastructure-led consortium in charge of the construction, or sub-contractor Hindustan Construction Company.
